30 Oct Strengthening the Relationship
Each relationship has its own beauty. The relationship between a mother and a child, the relationship between a husband and a wife, the relationship between siblings, friends, neighbors, church fellowship members, and so on. Networks of relationships get expanded as the day goes by.
Knowingly or unknowingly, we are bound by relationships. We are surrounded by people, and we are connected to each other. There is some kind of happiness and sense of belonging when we are connected to someone. We feel happy, we feel the comfort, we feel secured, and so on.
But on some occasions, some relationships get disconnected due to some reasons or even without reasons. Sometimes we ourselves withdraw from others and stay alone. Sometimes others will leave us. When we are disconnected from any relationship unexpectedly, we feel lonely and depressed unknowingly, and we get all kinds of negative feelings.
Relationships are more important to everyone. God created man to get connected with Him and to have harmonious relationships with Him. God created women for the man, saying, “It is not good for the man to be alone” (Gen. 2:8).
There was a good relationship between God and man before the fall. Suddenly the relationship got disconnected due to SIN (Disobedient).
But God doesn’t want to leave mankind as such. He wanted man to get reconnected with him. So He sent His begotten son (Jesus Christ) to reconnect the relationship with man.
How To Get Reconnected With The Disconnected Relationship?
- Love
- Forgiveness And Compassion
- Acceptance
- Spending Time
Love
In 1 John 4:10, it says this is love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son as an atoning sacrifice for our sin. When our sins are washed, we are free to get connected with God. God himself took initiative to gain the lost relationship. God gave importance to the relationship and through love, He wants his people back
Forgiveness And Compassion
When the younger son took all the properties given by his father and when he lost everything, he thought of his father and come back to his home. His father saw him and filled with compassion for him, he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him (Luke 15:20). He celebrated his arrival (Luke 15: 23-24). Here we can see the disconnected relationship between a son and a father got reconnected through forgiveness and companionship.
Acceptance
Joseph was sold to Egyptians by his own brothers. After 13 years, he became second-in-charge to Pharaoh (Gen. 41:46). When there was a famine, Joseph’s brother came to Egypt in search of food. Joseph recognized his brother, and his brother didn’t identify him. Joseph, after seeing his younger brother, revealed himself to his brother, and he accepted them all and provided all the things they needed (Gne. 50:20-21). Here we see the relationship between brothers being reconnected through acceptance. Acceptance comes through understanding. Try to understand others thoughts and feelings.
Spending Time
There are many more examples in the Bible to show how the relationships reconnected. Paul used to write letters to young churches, believers and to his fellow members to be connected with each other. Paul encouraged, supported, guided, and counseled through his letters. He used to visit everyone to spend time.
It is very important for us to be connected with God, to our family, to our Church and to our society. Relationships make us strong and happy and give a sense of belongingness. When we fall, helping hands will come up to lift us up through prayer, encouraging words, moral support, and so on.
If you are disconnected with God, or if you are disconnected with anyone for a reason, or if you are disconnected from church or fellowship, it is time to repent, forgive and accept each other, show compassion on others, and spend time with your fellow members (family and believers).
Let us all be united.
